- Some questions frequently asked by houseowners : examples of math games?
♥ like sudoku, math board games, or fun math activities. math games that are written/played on paper, preferably. i need 6-10, but if you could give me only one that would be great too. and it would be much better if you could tell me how to make a game out of the following math topics: polynomials - addition - subtraction - multiplication - division laws of exponents special products - multiplying binomials - square of binomials - binomial expansion - trinomial expansion the games don't necessarily have to be based on these topics, i'm just saying it would be betetr =) any websites that have math games would be appreciated too. please answer asap, i need this for a project!what do you think about a math book with only examples ? please read below for additional details ?
♥ i have been teaching math for about 4 years. students in my algebra class have informed me that the textbooks do not have enough examples and lack detail. i am currently working on an example book just for algebra. the idea is to have a book where different type of problems are solved. i do plan on marketing this book for teachers, students as well home-schoolers. this book will provide students with detailed examples at different degrees of difficulty. i realize there are some books out there such as schaum's outlines, but they leave out some important examples and are sometimes not detailed enough. it should not be mistaken for a textbook, but rather an example book to be used along with the required textbook. it is similar to what they have in india and china. i would like to hear from some of you and what you think. any suggestions are appreciated. thank you. here is a sample for order of operations: http://www.scribd.com/doc/3713414/orderofoperationsi'm tutoring a grade 8 girl for math who is currently failing.?
♥ i need some tips for how to teach her the basics. as of now, she has an extremely difficult time even adding and subtracting double-digit numbers, as well as her times tables. also, her number sense isn't all that good either. she doesn't really understand algebra and "balance". what would be a good way to get her on the right track? this is my first time as a tutor (and i am gr 9 currently finishing up ap calculus) and i'm not sure how i would go about teaching her. also, first of all i need to give her a passing grade within 3 weeks. she is sitting at 44%. what's a good way to bump that mark up before her finals? in case you were wondering, yes i skipped about 3 years of mathbasic math skills- time limit?
♥ hello! have just started tutoring my cousin who is in grade 5. i noticed that she is really lacking confidence in basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. i have started making math worksheets on softschools.com (it allows you to choose how many questions and what types of problems you would like). i have three questions: 1. what have you done to help your children learn these basic skills? any special websites or tricks? 2. how long should it take her to do a certain number of problems. -for example, how long should it take to do 100 multiplication problems? 3. how long should she be reviewing this each day? (keep in mind she is 10 years old and is falling behind). thanks so much!need help with inequalitys?
